It was learned that some prisoners in Bandırma Closed Prison were attacked by the guardians, because they reacted to the the forced transfer of their 25 prisoner friends who were sent to Afyon T Type 1 and 2 prisons.   Hamze Deniz, a prisoner who have been imprisoned for 29 years in Bandırma Prison, spoke about the oppression they experienced in prison via a phone conversation with his family. Noting that the conditions worsened in the prison, Deniz stated that they were taken out of the ward one by one by the guards and they were beaten in the corridors. Stating that the clothes of the prisoners were taken off by force, Deniz reported that many prisoners' ribs, wrists and ankles were broken due to the violence they were exposed to.   'WE WERE PUT IN BASTINADO'   Deniz added that some of the prisoners were tortured in the places of the prison where the cameras are not able to record and he was also put in bastinado (aka. falaka or foot-whipping). Stating that the torture incident continued for 3 hours, Deniz reported that all battered prisoners were out in single isolation cells afterwards. Emphasizing that all the belongings of the prisoners in his ward have been confiscated, the clothes of the prisoners were also torn apart.   TORTURE BECAUSE TH PRISONERS DEMANDED MEDICAL REPORT   Stating that the imprisoners were taken to the infirmary one day after the incident by force, Deniz stated that the guards insulted them by saying “Why do not you get a report of battering” and that when they go to the infirmary, the doctor told them “you can get out” without an medical examination as such. While coming to the ward, he said that the guards has beaten them up again, saying, "So you were going to complain about the institution by getting a report of battering and would have made a bad nme for our institution".   PRISON MANAGEMENT DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS   The prison administration that we have called denied the allegations, said that we can get the necessary information from the General Directorate of Criminal Detention Houses (CTE).
