The new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19), which started to appear in Wuhan, China and started to spread gradually, has caused fear and anxiety in Van, neighboring Iran. The city is visited by tens of thousands of Iranians every year. Despite the spreading epidemic, Kapıköy Customs Gate is still open in Saray district of the city opened to Iran.   Doctor Hüseyin Yaviç, Member of the Board of the Van-Hakkari Medical Chamber, spoke to MA about the epidemic hazard the city faces and the precautions to be taken.   Stressing that the relevant institutions should take the necessary precautions regarding the epidemic threat, Yavic said that the border gates should be closed temporarily for this purpose.   Yaviç said: "Measures should be taken at the borders. The people infected with the virus that has no known treatment yet should be isolated from the society.Treatment should be done in special conditions. Correspondent institutions need to put this issue on their agenda immediately and reveal alternative solutions. It is not enough to prevent this risk at the border gates with thermal cameras. All institutions, especially scientific commissions, need to be established. This is a risky situation. These measures need to be taken without wasting time."
