Kurdish Language Platform Conference kicks off 2020-02-22 12:51:10 DİYARBAKIR - The conference organized by the Kurdish Language Platform in Diyarbakır has started. "All concrete steps to be taken are very important for the future of Kurdish," said Platform Spokesperson Serefxan Cizirî. The conference organized by the Kurdish Language Platform, which was formed by the gathering of Kurdish political parties, started at a hotel in Sur district of Diyarbakır with the slogan of "Our language is our identity, our language is our existence". The platform consists of Democratic Regions Party (DBP), People's Democratic Party (HDP), Human and Freedom Party (PIA), Kurdistan Communist Party (KKP), Kurdistan Socialist Party (PSK), Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), Kurdistan Democrat party of Turkey (PDK-T), the Kurdish Democratic Platform (PDK-Bakur) and Azadi Party.    Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-Chair Berdan Öztürk and Batman Municipality Co-Mayor Mehmet Demir attended the conference held within the scope of 21st February Mother Tongue Day, as well as representatives of the components of the political parties and non-governmental organizations.   It was seen that the banner saying "Our language is our existence - Zimanê me hebuna me ye" was hung in the hall where the conference was held.   'CONCRETE STEPS ARE CRUCIAL FOR THE FUTURE'    The conference program started with the opening speech of the Kurdish Language Platform Spokesperson, Şerefxan Cizirî following a moment of silence.  Cizirî emphasizing the importance of language studies and said: "Every concrete step to be taken for Kurdish is crucial for the future."   Hayrettin Altun, a member of the platform, said in his speech that the Kirmanckî dialect of the Kurdish language was facing the danger of extinction and made a call to the people to defend their language.   PRESENTATIONS WILL BE CARRIED OUT   At the conference, DBP Diyarbakır Provincial Executive Hayrettin Altun will carry out a presentation on 'Language and Education', KKP Chair Sinan Çiftyürek will carry out a presentation on 'Language and the people', Platform Spokesperson Şerefxan Cizîrî will carry out a presentation on 'Language and Enlightenment' and Hasan Dağtekin from PSK will carry out a presentation on 'Language and Formality'.
