Arrested cancer patient still in hospital 2020-02-12 12:01:34   ISTANBUL - Ayten Sarıkaya Kesler (53), a cancer patient who has been given a decision of arrest on charges of "insulting the President". Kesler who arrived in İstanbul from Switzerland, has been held in hospital since yesterday.   The Ayten Sarıkaya Kesler arrived in İstanbul, Türkey from Switzerland yesterday morning and she was taken into custody in the passport control in  Istanbul Airport. Kesler, for whom the decision of capture for the allegations of "making propaganda for an organization" and "insulting the President" due to Facebook posts, was taken to the police station until the midday. In the Bakırköy Courthouse, where he was brought afternoon, an arrest warrant was issued despite the fact that Kesler reported she had cancer Keser. Keser's health condition got worse during the court as she got unconscious and fainted. Despite all that, they tried to make the cancer patient sign the interrogation report as whe was lying on the ground.   It is learned that Kesler, who has been kept in a private hospital in Bahçelievler since yesterday, will be taken to Bakırköy Prison.   'JUDICIAL ORDERS OF THE GOVERNMENT'   Stating that there is no sign left from justice in Turkey, Kesler's lawyer Gülizar Tuncer said, "Escape of my client is out of subject. She is seriously sick and undergoing treatment. Where is she going to escape? She has already come from Switzerland. She has been treated there for years. She has breast cancer and whole breast were removed. Cancer has spread throughout her body. But even under such circumstances, they gave a decision of arrest."   'IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HER TO LIVE IN PRISON'   Lawyer Tuncer said that her client's condition is now better. Stating that many examinations were done, Tuncer said, “The doctors were always there. She is still being held in an emergency. Now her condition is better, but I really don't know what will happen. In these conditions, it is not possible for her to live in prison. It is not possible to go through the search and screening processes there. And stress is the biggest enemy of this disease. It has already been it has already been enough for her, what she had to go through until now. Today, I will appeal against the decision at the Bakırköy 2nd Magistrates' Court.
