
Release application of Co-Mayor Yaşar rejected

	HAKKARİ – Yüksekova Co-Mayor Remziye Yaşar's release decision given by Hakkari 1st High Criminal Court on February 4 was rejected by the higher court.&nbsp;

	An arrest warrant was issued against Yüksekova Municipality Co-Chair Remziye Yaşar, who was detained during a raid to her home on October 15, 2019 was arrested by the court. Hakkari 1st High Criminal Court decided Yaşar should be released on February 4. The prosecutor's office who objected to the decision, took the case to the 2nd High Criminal Court, which is a higher court. Yaşar's attorneys applied to a higher court, the 3rd High Criminal Court, and Yaşar's release application was rejected by 3rd High Criminal Court.

	Yaşar's trial will be held on May 15, 2020.
