Hafter leaves Moscow without signing the agreement 2020-01-14 12:59:20 ANKARA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has confirmed that Libyan National Army (LNA) leader Khalifa Haftar has left Moscow without signing the ceasefire agreement.   After hours-long ceasefire talks in Moscow, the parties agreed on the draft ceasefire agreement for Libya yesterday (January 14).   However, announcing that some parties to the conflict signed the final agreement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia stated that Libyan National Army (LNA) leader Khalifa Haftar requested additional time.   As of this morning, LNA leader Haftar has left the capital city of Russia without signing the Libya ceasefire agreement.   Releasing a statement on January 9, Haftar previously rejected the joint call of Turkey and Russia for a ceasefire in the country.   In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, it has been announced that following the ceasefire negotiations, the UN recognized Government of National Accord (GNA) has accepted the agreement while LNA leader Khalifa Haftar has left the city without signing it.   Addressing the reporters who asked whether Haftar has left without signing the agreement, the ministry official has answered, "Yes".   The ceasefire agreement was accepted by the GNA government. However, LNA leader Khalifa Haftar and the delegation accompanying him in Moscow requested additional time to think.
