Kaya: A vindictive structure is wanted to be raised under the name of religious education in prisons

	İSTANBUL - HDP MP Hüda Kaya, reacting to the protocol made between  The Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs Department regarding the religious education to be made in prisons, said: "The government is trying to create a vindictive structure in prisons under the name 'religious education'.

	 

	The protocol signed between the Ministry of Justice and the Presidency of Religious Affairs on the provision of religious education to prisoners in prisons was signed on 3 December 2019. Ministry of Justice said in a statement that the prison preachers commissioned by the district and the provincial muftiates will be teaching religious and moral lessons, Quran lessons and conferences and that the program will be carried out by 500 preachers. 

	 

	 

	The program is said to aim to 'contribute to the religious education and moral development', 'contribute to the social progress', 'prevent future crimes', 'delevop the religious education activities'.

	 

	'THEY ARE TRYING TO CREATE A VINDICTIVE STRUCTURE'

	 

	Speaking on the signed protocol and the aim of the program, People's Democratic Party İstanbul MP Hüda Kaya stated that AKP government is trying to create a vindictive youth instead of a religious youth and help grooming street militias and that the government is trying to create an attack device against the people who opposes the government.

	 

	Stating that the government is trying to develop a vindictive structure in prisons with this protocol, Kaya pointed out the rights violations in prisons and emphasized the need for humane living conditions before religious rehabilitation.
