	DİYARBAKIR - Continuation of detention was decided for the case of DBB Co- Mayor Selçuk Mızraklı on the first hearing of the case.

	The first hearing of the case where Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co- Mayor Selçuk Mızraklı is being tried as a result of the statements of the confessor Hicran Berna Ayverdi with a request of a jail sentence from 7 years and 6 months to 15 years with the accusation of 'being a member of an illegal organization' was held at Diyarbakır 9th High Criminal Court today.

	&nbsp;

	Mızraklı's lawyers Diyarbakır Bar President Cihan Aydın, Mehmet Emin Aktar and Zülal Erdoğan were present at the hearing.

	&nbsp;

	Intensive security measures taken in front of the courthouse before the trial drew attention.

	&nbsp;

	The hearing was attended by DTK Co-Chair Bedran Öztürk, DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, HDP MPs and Diyarbakır Provincial Organization executives, CHP Diyarbakır Provincial Chairman Mehmet Sayın, Saadet Party Deputy Cihangir İslam, KKP Chairman Sinan Çiftyürek, Labor Party CEB Member Yusuf Karataş, and the represantatives of non governmental organizations.

	&nbsp;

	Following the defense, the court decided to continue the detention of Mızraklı and adjourned the hearing to 10 February.
