IHD and HDP executives in Malatya sentenced to 6 years 2019-12-20 13:56:54 MALATYA - Politicians and Human Rights executives in Malatya were sentenced to 6 years imprisonment. The trial of HDP, DBP and Human Rights Association people detained in Malatya on 27 November 2018 on the allegations of “being a member of an illegal rganization, were handed down sentences at Malatya 5th Criminal Court were held.   The names of the people on trial were as follows:   HDP Malatya former Provincial co-chair Özcan Ağdaş, DBP Provincial co-chair Nermin Tuncel, İHD Malatya Branch co-chair Gönül Öztürkoğlu, HDP Battalgazi District co-chair Ahmet Aksu, HDP Yeşilyurt District co-chair Aziz Doğan, HDP former provincial executive Hasan Karvar and party member Ahmet Turan Sertkaya.   Of the seven people, Hasan Karvar, was released on bail, while the other 6 were sentenced to prison accused of being "members of an illegal organisation."   The court sentenced Aziz Doğan and Ahmet Aksu to one year and eight months imprisonment due to the activities of political parties and associations and adjourned the sentence.   Gönül Öztürkoğlu, Nermin Tuncel, Özcan Ağdaş and Hasan Karvar, who are the Head of the IHD Branch, were sentenced to 6 years and 3 months of imprisonment charged with "being a member of an illegal organization".
