21 people under custody finally referred to court 2019-12-19 12:05:05 DİYARBAKIR - The 21 people who were subjected to ill treatment and torture under custody were finally referred to court after days. Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 21 people who were detained by teams affiliated to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command on December 8 were sent to Diyarbakır Courthouse after 12 days after the interrogations completed in the TEM Branch of the Provincial Security Directorate.   It was learned that those who were subjected to torture while under custody were charged with 'being a member of an illegal organization', 'helping the organization' and 'possession of explosives'.   22 people were taken into custody with police raids on their homes in 8 neighborhoods of Bağlar, Kayapınar and Çınar.   While Kasım Eken (40), a mentally disabled person who was among those detained, was released after 5 days, D. Eken who is a minor who was taken into custody with his father Abdulkadir Eken was being held in Children's Branch.
