Death threat to the prisoners in Antep 2019-12-19 12:03:45 ADANA - Gülistan Al, a prisoner in Antep Type L Prison told the attorneys of IHD about the violations of rights in the prison. Al said the guards have been threatening them saying 'Who are you? We will kill you!' Human Rights Association (İHD) Adana Branch Prison Commission member lawyers met with a detainee named Gülistan Al on December 17 in Antep Type L Prison.  Al stated that the petitions and letters they sent to the public institutions such as the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Justice were not processed and destroyed by the prison administration, saying that they are endangering the security of the institution.   MILITARY REGULATIONS   Al, stating that they are staying with 10 people in a ward for 6 and that this group of 10 includes sick and old prisoners, said: "Our right to see the prison doctor was once a week and now we can see the prison doctor once in 2 weeks. The medication of the sick and old prisoners are deliberately given late. The fixtures in the ward is adjusted for 6 people therefore there are no extra blankets for the old and the sick prisoners and there are no closets for the 4 people. Our visits with our families are limited to 30 minutes. They impose military regulations on us when we go to sports, infirmary, hospital or visitations. They also did not let us give our summer clothes to our families and recieve more suitable clothes for the winter. No matter how cold it gets we have a quota of 2 sweaters"     On December 13,2019 a package arrived for 2 of our friends but they were not given the package. The guards insulted and threatened us. They told us 'Who are you? Know your place or else we'll kill you.' They also battered us. After our meeting with the manager, we were able to receive our cargo. Since we are political women prisoners, we are arbitrarily deprived of our legal rights by following a discriminatory policy."
