The ban on women's rally in İstanbul lifted 2019-11-25 16:00:32 İSTANBUL - The ban has been lifted after talks between the district governorship and İstanbul November 25 Women's Platform.   Beyoğlu District Governorship has lifted the ban it previously issued on the women's planned march on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.   İstanbul November 25 Women's Platform announced on Twitter that the ban was lifted after talks with the district governorship. "Struggle and solidarity of women have won, the November 25 ban has been lifted after talks," it said.   The platform said the march will begin at 7 p.m. on Tünel Square, at the southern end of İstiklal Avenue.   The Beyoğlu District Governorship announced yesterday (November 24) that it banned the march after it "found" Twitter messages under the slogan, "We are raising our rebellion against violence, murder, harassment, rape, sexual abuse against women, we are gathering on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women."   The platform, despite the ban, called on women to come to Taksim.
