Unemployment increased by 1 million 65 thousand people in a year

	ANKARA - The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has released its labor force statistics for July 2019. Accordingly, while the rate of unemployment is 13.9 percent in July, the total number of unemployed is 4 million 596 thousand people.

	 

	The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) released its labor force statistics for July 2019 today (October 15).

	 

	Accordingly, the number of unemployed aged 15 years and older has increased by 1 million 65 thousand people in comparison with July 2018 and reached 4 million 596 thousand. The rate of unemployment has been measured as 13.9 percent, with a 3.1 percentage point increase.

	 

	While youth unemployment rate including people aged 15-24 has been 27.1 percent with 7.2 percentage point increase, the unemployment rate for the ones aged 15-64 has occurred as 14.2 percent with 3.2 point increase.
