Inönü Park in Adana closed to public after HDP-run cities seizure 2019-09-30 12:13:46 ADANA - In Adana all actions and demos have been prohibited since the seizure of the IHD-run municipalities. The entrance to Inönü Park in the city centre has been closed by police barriers.   Inönü Park in the middle of the central bazaar in Adana has been closed to the public since 19 August, when the HDP-run municipalities of Amed, Van and Mardin were seized by the AKP, the legitimate mayors dismissed and trustees put in their place.    According to the latest decision by the governor's office in Adana, the word "trustee" is also banned.   Adana residents are protesting the ban on the park. Elif Sari, has been using this park for years, but now it has been closed for over a month.   There is a single entrance and it's heavily controlled by police. "Our living spaces - she said - are getting reduced more and more".   Selahattin Doğan, who has been working at a tea stand on the side of the park for 12 years, said: “My business inevitably collapsed. This is not good, I don't know where we will arrive if we continue like this. I was always in the park. The old one, the young one, the one waiting at the bus they all stop to get a cup of tea, have a rest for a few minutes. Unfortunately, now nobody can sit in the park, so people don't stop for tea. I hope the authorities will remove this barriers as soon as possible."
