
HDP delegation in the US ends its trip

	NEWS DESK - HDP deputy co-chair and Foreign Affairs representative Hişyar Özsoy and Siirt Deputy Meral Danış Beştaş made a series of diplomatic visits during their visit in the United States.

	&nbsp;

	The visit by the HDP delegation in the US lasted a week.

	&nbsp;

	Özsoy and Beştaş were visiting Washington following the joint invitation by the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission at the US Congress and the International Parliaments Union (IPU) and held many diplomatic meetings.

	&nbsp;

	According to information provided by the HDP Press Office, Özsoy and Beştaş discussed the situation of imprisoned former co-chairs Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yüksekdag and used this opportunity to inform Congress about the current situation in Turkey.

	&nbsp;

	The HDP delegation also met with representatives of the House of Representatives and Senate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Syrian Special Representative and many think tanks.

	&nbsp;

	According to the Press Office talks addressed the current political developments in Turkey, democracy, problems in the rule of law and human rights, the new arrest order for Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yüksekdağ, the appointment of trustees to the HDP-run municipalities, Turkey-US relations with Syria and Rojava.
