Unlawfull prohibitions in Hakkari: Food quota, travel limitation, ban to go out of the village 2019-09-12 11:21:19 HAKKARİ - Unlawfull prohibitions are applied in Hakkari. While many villages in the city are almost isolated, especially in some regions "food embargo" is applied to citizens' while their supplies are allowed with a 'quota'.Underlining the issue, HDP's Sait Dede said they will move the issue to the parliament. The security orianted policies that the AKP government has implemented in many regions, especially in Hakkari, make the lives of the local people increasingly difficult. The governership that declared 31 districts 'special security zone', puts some unlawfull bans and embargos in the district. The Governorate that imposes a food quota to many villages, also bans people leaving the designated areas.     The Governorate that has been blocking many roads with large rocks or excavated soil, forces people to use the only road left, which a police check point is posted. Citizens are forced to go through the police checkpoint to the city center and then to other neighborhoods to go to their neighborhoods and villages.     Dede, stating that the government makes the life unbareable and the city inhabitable, said: "Many districts in the city are either banned for given periods or they are declared 'special security zones'. People can not use their farming areas or ranch. In some villages, a quota is being imposed to the villages. They have a quota of 25kg of flour, 5kg of sugar and 1 kg of tea regardless of how long they will stay in the village or how many people they will be. In fact the government knows that these people live here have to go to the villages and earn a living. We've had a lot of complaints about this. We will then move the issue to Parliament and table our motion ”.
