	ISTANBUL - CHP Istanbul Provincial President Canan Kaftancıoğlu was sentenced to 9 years, 8 months and 20 days of imprisonment in the case where she was being tried for her social media shares.

	Republican People's Party (CHP) İstanbul Provincial President Canan Kaftancıoğlu was accused of 'insulting the president', 'insulting a public official due to their duties', 'Contempt for the Republic of Turkey', 'Provoking the public to hatred and enmity', 'Propaganda of a terrorist organization'.

	İstanbul 37th High Criminal Court sentenced Kaftancıoğlu to 9 years 8 months and 20 days in prison.
