Sick prisoner Aktaş is getting worse due to wrong diagnosis 2019-07-27 10:39:13   İSTANBUL - Ergin Aktaş who was diagnosed with pnuemonia in İzmir Menemen Type R Prison learned to be tuberculosis after he was transferred to Silivri Prison. Attorney Gülizar Tuncer stated that Aktaş is getting worse because he is not being admitted to a hospital.     Ergin Aktaş whose one hand is amputated,is being kept in prison despite the Forensic Medicine Institude gave 4 reports about him stating that he can not sustain his life in prison. He was misdiagnosed with pnuemonia and later diagnosed with tuberculosis in Silivri Prison. His attorney Gülizar Tuncer stated that he is getting worse.      Tuncer, recalling the hunger strike her client joined on March 6, stated that he is weary after the hunger strikes. Tuncer who stated that her client has been vomitting blood in Menemen Prison, said: "They told him he had pnuemonia when he started vomitting blood in Menemen Prison. But it turned out to be a wrong diagnosis. Therefore, the medicine given to him were wrong as well. He was being kept alone in a cell and the cell was a damp and humid place. His laundry was being dried inside the cell and the windows could not be opened. He had 1 hour permission in the yard and his Koah disease was progressing. His lungs was in bad condition. They told him he had pneumonia after he started vomitting blood during the hunger strike. It turned out he had tuberculosis after the arrived in Silivri prison. His drug- treatment begun. But he needs to be treated in a hospital since he is getting worse, not better. He is taking around 10 pills a day."       Tuncer stated that they applied to Istanbul Medical Chamber for Aktas to obtain a report again and said: "Deputy Omer Faruk Gergerlioglu is following up on him closely. He is talking to the Minister of Justice for him to be admitted to a hospital. We will make necessary applications after providing the reports."
