Beşikdüzü Prison Administration: This is not a prison, this is a military school 2019-06-28 10:48:45 DİYARBAKIR - According to the information obtained, the guards have been quoting from the torturer Esat Oktay Yıldıran and say 'This is not a prison, this is a military school' to the prisoners n Trabzon Beşikdüzü Type T Closed Prison in which the pressures have been increasing since the hunger strikes.   Özgür Sevim who has been a prisoner in Trabzon Beşikdüzü Prison since February 2019, spoke to his family on the phone and told about the violations of rights. Sevim said: "We are subjected to physical and verbal insults. They have been raiding our wards with no reason in the last 2 days and insult us during that time. They want us to stand up when they count us. They battered us because we objected that our being checked by dogs. They are telling us that this is not a prison but a military school. We don't have life safety here.Humans' Rights organizations and lawyers should be sensitive to this."   Mardin’in Nusaybin ilçesinde 27 Mayıs 2016 yıllında gözaltına alınıp, “Devletin birliğini ve bütünlüğünü bozmak” iddiasıyla tutuklanan Özgür Sevim, 2 gün Mardin E Tipi Kapalı Cezaevi'nde kaldıktan sonra Tokat T Tipi Cezaevi’ne sevk edildi. Burada 2 yıl 8 ay kalan Sevim, Şubat 2019’da Trabzon Beşikdüzü T Tipi Kapalı Cezaevi’ne gönderildi. Sevim’in bulunduğu cezaevinde yoğun hak ihlalleri yaşandığı öğrenildi.      Mother Behiye Sevim who visited her son on June 10, stating that they witnessed the maltreatment to the prisoners, said: "We pulled the tables together when we went to the visiting room to be able to talk together with the other prisoners and their families. We were battered for this. They pushed back the tables in their original places and did not let us even look at each other. We told them that we all  knew each other but they forced us to only speak to the person we were registered to visit.We saw that the wristwatches of the prisoners were confiscated. Our visit took less than 45 minutes and they forced us out of there before our time. They didn't let us say goodbye."   Mother Sevim who stated that they applied to TUAY-DER about what's happening, called for legal action against those responsible.   Trabzon Besikduzu T-Type Closed Prison authorities, who we called on the subject, claimed that the allegations of rights violations were not correct.
