Law suit filed against journalist attends to a funeral to report 2019-05-30 09:24:04 ADANA - A law suit was filed against Jinha reporter Filiz Zeyrek and other attendants to the funeral of YPG member Şemdin Eye. An indictment was prepared for 20, including Zeyrek and her parents by Adana Chief Prosecutor's Office. The indictment prepared with the accusations of 'being a member of an illegal organization' and 'propaganda of an illegal organization' was accepted by Adana 13th High Criminal Court.   In the indictment, it was stated that the video footage of the funeral that was shot by Eye was investigated from the equipment confiscated by her and claimed that she was was sending the footage to news agencies related with the 'illegal organization'.The Prosecutor's Office claimed that 19 people pinned the photographs of Eye and that they carried a banner with the YPG emblem and PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the poster of the Eye, which was all considered crimes by the Prosecutor's Office.     As a result of an denouncement made about Zeyrek in 2018 on the allegations of 'propaganda of an organization' on social media, it was alleged that the social media account was examined and that the crime of propaganda was committed.The prosecutor's office stated that despite there is a ban on travelling abroad about Zeyrek, she did go abroad illegally, captured and delivered to Turkey on February 22, 2019.   The first hearing of the case will be held at the Adana 13th High Criminal Court tomorrow.
