
19 year old hunger striker: We are ready to pay any price

	ADANA - 19 year old Ahmetcan Bahadır who is on hunger strike for 61 days in Tarsus Prison, made a call and said: "We won't stop, we are ready to pay any price."

	The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy initiated have evolved into a death fast when 15 people decided to go on a death fast.Political prisoners in Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison, Gebze Women's Closed Prison, Van High Security Prison and Diyarbakır Type D Prison announced that they are starting a death fast because the government did not take any steps towards a solution.

	One of the prisoners continuing the hunger strike in Tarsus No 3 Type T Prison is 19 year old Ahmetcan Bahadır.

	Ahmetcan Bahadır was taken under custody and arrested afterwards with the accusation of throwing stones to the police in 2016, when he was just 16. After being tortured in Hatay Yayladağı Prison where he was put, he started an action with 3 of his friends and moved to Sincan Juvenile Detention Center. The decision about him finalized in June 2018 and he was sentenced to 9 years in prison.

	Ahmetcan who is on hunger strike since March 1, made a call to the Kurdish community and the democratic communities via his family, saying: "19 of us are on hunger strike in here.We are not doing so fine. Some of our friends were referred to hospital. But they did not accept treatment so they were brought back. Especially our friend Suat Okur is in bad condition. He is spitting blood. We are wasting away day by day but we are spiritually very determined. We will not end our hunger strike unless our leader says so.We will not stop. We are ready to pay any price.Kurdish people must rise. Today is the day for struggle and resistance. Today is the day of our rights and our peoples."
