'Our struggle will continue until our resistance reaches its goal' 2019-04-27 10:35:38   MERSİN - Özgür Eksik who is on hunger strike for 112 days with 7 friends in Rize Type L Closed Prison, drew attention to the act that their health issues are increasing. Eksik who stated that there are 75 people on hunger strike, said they will continue struggling until their resistance reaches its goal.     Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy and thousands of political prisoners are on hunger strike demanding the termination of the isolation in İmralı. 27 years old Özgür Eksik who is on hunger strike for 112 days in Rize Type L Closed Prison is one of them. Eksik sent a letter to Çukurova Association for Solidarity with Prisoners and Convicts (TUAY-DER) Mersin Branch, told about what they are going through and called for commonsense.     27 year old Eksik who had to migrate to Mersin from Eruh because their village was bombed, lost one of his sisters in the bombing. Eksik lost his father in an armed conflict, and was arrested with the accusation of 'being a member of an illegal organization' in 2009 and was sentenced to 23 years of prison time.     Eksik who stated that Mustafa Türkan, Veysel Güler, Murat Şimşek, Erdem Aktı, Şiyar Kara, Orhan Şakar and Hüseyin Yıldırım started the hunger strike Democratic Society COngress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven initiated together on January 5, said 67 more prisoners joined the hunger strike on March 1. Eksik stated that they have lost 10- 12 kilos during the hunger strike, said they are suffering from fatigue, exhaustion, dizziness and greyouts but their morale is high.   Eksik who stated that they continue their action with 75 people, said that they will continue their hunger strike until their demands are met and their reisistance reaches its goal.
