Families of the hunger stikers: Are they waiting for the 7 thousand people to die? 2019-04-10 11:25:07 DİYARBAKIR - The families of the hunger striker prisoners in Diyarbakır Type D Prison demanding the isolation in İmralı to be terminated, called on to the Ministry of Justice and  European Court of Humans' Rights  (ECHR).  Families said: "Funerals are coming out of prisons. Where is ECHR? When will the Ministry of Justice hear our voice? Are they waiting for the death of 7 thousand people?  The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven, demanding the termination of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues on its 153rd day. The hunger strike action that started following Leyla Güven on December 16, have spreaded to all prisons with the participation of 7 thousand political prisoners.   The families of the hunger strikers in Diyarbakır Type D Closed Prison have called on to the Ministry of Justice and the ECHR.   'ARE THEY WAITING FOR THE DEATH OF 7 THOUSAND PEOPLE?'   Alihan Kuşlu, father of Serhat Kuşlu who is incarcerated since 2016, stated that the people who are on hunger strike for 116 days are detoriorating. Kuşlu who demands steps to be taken immediately to prevent the long term effects of the hunger strikes and the deaths, said: "Where is the humans' rights? Are the Kurdish not humans? Funerals are coming out of prisons. Where is ECHR? When will the Ministry of Justice hear our voices? Are they waiting for the death of 7 thousand prisoners?"
