Atak on hunger strike for 103 days: There is no other way 2019-03-27 10:32:26   HAKKARÄ°- Emine Atak, mother of Necla Atak who is on a hunger strike for 103 days in Kandıra Type F High Security Prison, conveyed the message of her daughter saying: "The support of the mothers, the support of the people outside, the support of the society is very important. We don't have any alternative other than to resist."   Atak was accused of "Disrupting the unity and integrity of the state", "Establishing and managing an illegal organization" and "being a member of an illegal organization" with a request of up to 200 years of prison sentence. Atak started a hunger strike for 9 days under custody, because her family was not informed.     Mother Emine Atak who wants the isolation to be terminated, said: "She told me that they had to go on a hunger strike to end the isolation that have gone beyond any morals. She is the one giving us moral support even though she is on a hunger strike. She says hunger strike was their only way to end this isolation."    Mother Atak who said her daughter told her that the support coming from the mothers and the society is very important and that they had no other alternative than to resist. Mother Atak said: "The gendermerie intercepts our little children on the way in our village demanding them to spy for them. My daughter is right. They would do anything to us if we did  not resist. We hid our little children under rocks when they raked us from their helicopters. They dragged the teenagers on the ground tied to water cannons. This cruelty and oppression still continues. This is why we have to resist."
