Mothers from Şırnak whose children are on hunger strike: They can't find a solution when it comes to us 2019-03-25 11:23:12 ŞIRNAK- Mothers from Şırnak whose children are on hunger strike demanding the termination of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan said: "This tears our heart out. Is it just us they can't find a solution for? Is it just us that a solution can not be find ?"   The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven is continuing with the participation of almost 7000 political prisoners. Alongside the hunger strikes, Zülküf Gezen, Ayten Beçet and Zehra Sağlam have ended their lives protesting the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.   Mirari Ernar, mother of Mehmet Ernar who is on a hunger strike since March 1 in Elazığ Prison, said she is claiming the demands of their children. Mother Ernar who stated that the isolation is 'unaccaptable', said: " We want peace. We want our children alive. We want our leader (Öcalan) to be free, our children to be released from prisons and peace coming to our country. We will succeed."   Ayşe Tokay, mother of Kumru Tokay (28) from Diyarbakır Type E Closed Prison, said she learned that her daughter joined the hunger strike action on March 1 on the phone. Mother Tokay said her daughter told her 'Mom, we have joined the hunger strike. We will continue until the isolation on our leader is terminated. We are backing Leyla Güven up. We want peace"   Mother Tokay calling out to the humans' rights defenders said: " Defend our rights too. Thousands of our people have laid their bodies to hunger. They are all our children. We are calling on to Europe, stop remainin silent when it comes to us. Can't they just find a solution when it comes to us? Is there not a solution for us in this world? We're the mothers. We want this isolation on Kurdistan to be terminated."   Mother Tokay addressed AKP President Tayyip Erdoğan's wife, Emine Erdoğan, and said: "She is a mother as well. She should just put her hand on her heart and say that she wants peace, say thet this isolation must be terminated. No one suffers like a mother. She should remain human and come help us lift this burden. Help us terminate this isolation. Stand with us mothers."
