The confiscation of the letter of the hunger striker found unlawful 2019-03-22 11:14:07   ANKARA- The fact that the letter Cihan Alkan have sent to New Life Newspaper was found 'undesirable' and confiscated by the prison administration, was found a 'violation of the freedom of communication'.   The letter which Cihan Alkan, who is on a hunger strike for 61 days in Eskişehir Type H Closed prison, and his 2 friends have sent to New Life Newspaper to announce that they have joined the hunger strike on January 21, was confiscated by the prison administration. When the letter was not sent, Alkan applied to the 1st Execution Court in Eskişehir on 14 February and demanded the reversal of the decision.   The court evaluated the complaint of Alkan, ruled that the confiscation of the prison administration is against the law and nonprocedural. Judgeship assessed the confiscation procedure as a violation of  the freedom of communication.
