Police confiscated the memory card of the journalist containing the Mothertongue event 2019-03-02 10:07:46   İSTANBUL- Police confiscated the memory card of PİRHA repoter İsmet Sefer who was following the 2nd Mothertongue event of HDK Peoples and Faiths Commission.   PİRHA reporter İsmet Sefer who followed the 2nd Mothertongue Meetings event of People's Democratic Congress with the slogan 'Let the languages turn to colours and the colours turn to life', was stopped by the police when he got out. Other journalists reacted to the police checking Sefer's memory card.The police claimed Sefer came to them willingly and on his own. When sefer tried to go back with the journalists, the policed did not allow him. Although there were no written decisions the polcie claimed that the prosecutor instructed them to take the memory card for examination and did not let Sefer go.   HDK Co-spokesperson Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit reacted to the police for trying to confiscate the images.   KOçyiğit who says the treatment of the police is unlawful and arbitrary,said: "We are the citizens of this country and what you are doing is unlawful."   Sefer whose images were confiscated by the police, kept there waiting for several hours and was released late at night.
