
National Criminal Report: Accused police directly targeted Kurkut

	DİYARBAKIR - In the report prepared by the National Criminal Bureau for the murder of university student Kemal Kurkut in Diyarbakır Newroz 2017 , it was discovered that the defendant police directly targeted Kurkut and caused his death.

	&nbsp;

	The case of university student Kemal Kurkut who was shot by the police in Newroz Celebration in Diyarbakır in 2017 where the police officer Y.Ş is sentenced with the charge 'murder in the first degree ' was held at Diyarbakır 7th High Criminal Court.

	&nbsp;

	Court building was blockaded by the police before the hearing. Police officer Y.Ş attended the hearing along with his attorney, while Kurkut's brother Ferhat Kurkut and the family attorneys.

	&nbsp;

	&nbsp;People's Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır Deputies Musa Farisoğulları, Semra Güzel, Dersim Dağ and HDP District executives attended the hearing.

	&nbsp;

	At the hearing, the court announced that the report requested from the National Criminal Bureau on the death of Kurkut had delivered to the court. According to the report, it was revealed that the accused police Y.Ş directly targeted Kemal Kurkut and caused his death.
