Prof.Dr. Gök: We must tell everyone about the struggle of Leyla 2019-02-27 13:30:24 İSTANBUL- Prof. Dr. Fatma Gök who drew attention to the hunger strikes started to protest the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, said: "We must tell everyone about the meaning of Leyla's struggle and how we can contribute to it without losing time". The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven to protest the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues on its 112nd day. The hunger strikes of the prisoners in different prisons all around the country with the same demand continues as well.   Professor at the Faculty of Education of Boğaziçi University Dr. Fatma Gök talked about the isolation and hunger strikes against it.     Stating that isolation is inhuman, Gök said that people have basic rights even if they are in prison. Gök emphasized that human rights are defined according to basic legal norms and that it is against humanity to deny this situation.   Gök who stated that Güven have started this hunger strike to secure peace in this soil, said this is very meaningful. Gök said: "It is something we all should think about that someone have laid their body to hunger and possibly death to defend life.We must tell everyone about the meaning of Leyla's struggle and how we can contribute to it without losing time. We are all under isolation. Everyone should think about how we can start over and establish peace."
