HDK: Single language imposition made peoples enemies to each other 2019-02-21 13:00:07 İSTANBUL- The HDK Committee on Peoples and Beliefs invited everyone to speak  their mother tongue on February 21st World Mother Language Day. HDK stating that the language is the most important bridge connecting the past and the future, said: "Single language imposition made the communities drift away from each other, even made them enemies to each other." Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) The Peoples and Beliefs Commission made a written statement on World Mother Tongue Day, which was announced in 1999 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).   In the statement where mother tongue is defined as the language used in all sorts of communications  at the level of a nation , " As a wider definition, the language a person learns without any official training from their family and community is their mother tongue. To prohibit that language, is a violation of human rights" was said.
