Öztürk who stayed under custody for 6 months was not brought to court

	ANKARA- Ayten Öztürk who turned up 6 months later than her being taken under custody in Ankara Counter-terrorism Unit, was not brought to her hearing for security reasons.

	 

	Ayten Öztürk who was taken under custody in Lebanon Airport on March 8, 2018 and wasn't heard from again in 6 months, turned up in Ankara Counter Terrorism Unit 6 months later. The hearing where Ayten Öztürk is being jailed pending trial was held in Ankara 16th Criminal Court. Öztürk who is being kept at Sincan Women's Closed Prison was not brought to court for security reasons.

	 

	While Öztürk's attorney Murat Yılmaz said:" Even though the torture marks was still visible on her body, the prosecutor did not even look at our client", Attorney Betül Vangölü Kozağaçlı said: " The prison administration who brought hundreds of defendants into court, did not brought our client Öztürk claiming they did not have enough law enforcement to protect her. It is clear that the investigation is not carried out in the finest detail. An indictment was prepared for our client, but looking at the indictment, we do not see sufficient evidence of a crime."
