Journalism organizations made a call for Kibriye Evren's hearing 2018-12-05 12:07:57   DİYARBAKIR- The first hearing of Journalist Kibriye Evren who is being tried with a sentece of 22 years of jail time will be seen in Diyarbakır Courthouse tomorrow.The journalism organization representatives who demand the journalist being kept prisoners with no legal evidence to be released, called on to the society to attend the hearing.   The first hearing of Kibriye Evren who got taken under custody within a scope of an operation on October 9 and being accused of the charges of " Being a member of an illegal organization" and " Praising an illegal organization" will be seen in 5th Criminal Court of Diyarbakır.   22 YEARS OF JAIL TIME REQUESTED   Public prosecutor considered anonymous witness statements, social media shares and the  foreign entry-exit records as evidences of crimes in the 25 pages of indictment. Evren's activity in Democratic Society Congress (DTK), Kongreya Jinên Azad (KJA) and Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) was also considered crimes. Evren was accused of being a member of an illegal organization and praising an illegal organization. Prosecution requested a sentence of 22 years.   Turkey Journalists Union (TGS), Mezopotamya Women Journalists Platform and Free Press Initiative representatives made a call on to the public to attend Evren's hearing.
