Prisoner in danger of losing eyesight 2024-08-13 10:08:38 ŞIRNEX - Zin Bayar said that her imprisoned son Yaşar Bayar is at risk of losing his eyesight and demanded that her son to be treated. Yaşar Bayar (37), who was arrested after being detained during the curfew in Silopi district of Şırnak in 2015, was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for "disrupting the unity and integrity of the state" and 15 years in prison for "attempting to kill a public officer". Bayar was transferred to Giresun Espiye Type L Prison after 3 months in Şırnak Type T Prison. Bayar, whose sentence was finalized, has been held in solitary confinement for 2 months. Bayar is in danger of losing his eyesight.    'LET THEM BRING HIM TO NEAR PRISON'   Mother Zin Bayar, who has been seeing her son only once in 9 years due to the remoteness of the prison, spoke about her last phone call with her son. Stating that her son started to lose his eyesight, mother Bayar said: "His father has cancer and I have no one. We cannot go to every visit because the prison is far away. If he was in a nearby prison, we would go to his visits, but the prison he is in now is too far and the travel costs are too high. My son is currently being held in a single cell. He is not a person who can stay alone. He also has discomfort in his back and waist. His eyes are slowly darkening. As a mother, my only demand is that they take my son out of the cell and bring him to a nearby prison."    'HIS EYES ARE BLIND'   Stating that her son's condition is getting worse day by day, "We are also negatively affected by the situation my son is in. For 9 years, my son has been imprisoned and I have been able to see him only once. We have written dozens of petitions to the prison to bring him to a nearby prison. However, we have not received any results. If you are holding him in prison, why don't you treat him? My only demand is that my son be brought to a nearby prison and treated. He is about to lose his eyesight but he is not taken to the hospital."
