A young man was executed in Iran 2024-01-23 15:05:04 NEWS CENTER - 23-year-old Mohammad Ghobadlou was executed in Iran.   Mohammad Ghobadlou, a 23-year-old Kurd young who was arrested for participating in the protests that started after the murder of Jîna Mahsa Emînî in Iran, was executed this morning. Ghobadlou's family and relatives gathered in front of Kerec Qezelhesar Prison, where the execution took place, and reacted to the decision.   Mizani Agency, affiliated with the Iranian judiciary, announced the execution decision. The agency claimed that Ghobadlou received the death penalty for killing a police officer and wounding 5 police officers.   Ghobadlou's lawyer, Emir Reisyan, stated that the execution of his client was not legal and that they had the right to object to the sentence.   Before his execution, Amnesty International had announced that Ghobadlou had psychological problems and that the Iranian regime had tortured him into making statements in detention.
