Ballistic missile attack in Hewlêr: 4 people lost their lives 2024-01-16 09:18:54 NEWS CENTER - The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps targeted the US Consulate, the International Coalition base and many civilian areas in Hewlêr (Hawler). 4 people died in the attacks.   In Hewlêr (Hawler), the capital of the Federated Kurdistan Region, an attack was carried out repeatedly with missiles and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs) at night. The US Hewlêr Consulate, the International Coalition base established against ISIS and many civilian areas were targeted. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for the attack.   4 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES   KDP Politburo member Hemin Hewramnani said in his statement on the X account: “A civilian house was targeted in the attack carried out by the Revolutionary Guards in Hewlêr tonight. The owner of the house, Pêşrew Dizayi, and 4 members of his family lost their lives.” It was stated that Pêşrew Dizayi is the owner of Falcon Group.   In the statement made by the Kurdistan Security Council: "On January 15-16, 2024, at 23.30, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard targeted many civilian areas in Hewlêr with many ballistic missiles. Unfortunately, according to the initial findings, 4 civilians were martyred and 6 civilians were injured. Among the injured some of them are in serious condition. The Revolutionary Guard claimed that the attack targeted the positions of groups opposing Iran. This excuse is baseless and we reject it. Unfortunately, attacks on Erbil have always been carried out for unfounded reasons. Erbil, which is a stable region, has never been a source of threat to any side. This is a clear violation of the sovereignty of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. The Iraqi federal government and the international community must not remain silent against this crime”
