Condition of the cancer patient and 80 percent disabled prisoner getting worse 2023-10-22 11:21:15 WAN - Stating that the disease of her son Delil Bozkurt, who has cancer and is 80 percent disabled, has started to spread throughout his body, Mother Akisa Bozkurt said: “He cannot even stand up. He should be released immediately." Following their detention in Wan(Van)'s Rêya Armûşê (İpekyolu) district on September 8, 3 of the 4 young people targeted by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya on his social media account were arrested on the grounds of "being a member of a terrorist organisation". One of the arrested young people, 21-year-old Delil Bozkurt, is 80 percent disabled and has cancer.   It was learned that the health condition of Bozkurt, who has been receiving treatment for 5 years, has worsened under the conditions of detention. Bozkurt, who was taken to Van Yüzüncü Yıl Dursun Odabaşı Medical Center two days ago, was taken back to prison after his treatment. It was stated that Bozkurt's disease spread throughout his body.   His mother, Akisa Bozkurt, asked for the release of her son, who would not be able to be held in prison, so that his treatment could continue outside.   'DISEASE HAD SPREAD THROUGHOUT HIS BODY'   Stating that she could not take care of her son alone, even when he was out, Mother Bozkurt said: "I took care of him herself. I went to see him in prison two days ago. He told me that his condition was very bad and he was taken to the hospital. He couldn't even stand. My son's condition is getting worse. My son cannot be held in prison because his illness is getting worse day by day. We don't even know whether his medications have been given to him or not. When I last saw him, his disease had spread throughout his body. My son needs to be released immediately."   Stating that my son's psychology has deteriorated, the mother said: "If my son is held in prison any longer, his illness will no longer be curable. I appealed to the authorities for his release and I call on human rights organizations to take action."
