'Unlawful and inhumane isolation must be lifted' 2023-06-13 12:44:30   URFA - Green Left Party Member of Parliament Ömer Öcalan called for the isolation of İmralı to be lifted, which he described as “lawless and inhumane”.   The Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party) and the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) continue their internal meetings and discussions over the restructuring based on the deficiencies revealed in the elections. The Green Left Party Riha(Urfa) MP Ömer Öcalan made evaluations about the criticisms, the discussions about the Free Cause Party, which entered the Parliament from the lists of the People's Alliance, and the isolation against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.   Stating that everyone should learn from the elections held in May, Öcalan said: "The elections are a means to reach the final goal. The central decisions taken without the approval of the public did not find their place. Kurds always conduct politics in two ways; The first is the Kurdish, Kurdistan policy, and the other is a policy for the whole region. The elections showed that; We need Kurdistan politics. We need a policy where the people everywhere have a say in the field. For us, choices are not everything, but a tool to reach our goal. When using this tool, it is necessary to use it correctly. All the dynamics of Kurdistan should be involved. When we do not carry out a moral-political policy, we may face the situations we are in now. The public has a reaction. When we touch the public, we see and hear that they have reactions and discomfort. Our people are right in their reactions. Politics is not done in spite of the people. Every decision taken or to be taken by the HDP-Green Left Party must have the approval of the people. It is essential that the public be involved in every decision.”   'PEOPLES HAVE WARNED THE PARTY'   Recalling the local elections that will be held before us, Öcalan said: “The government regards the HDP and the politics of the Kurds as the enemy. Prohibitions are always present and may continue to be issued. We have local elections ahead of us, and in those elections, we may encounter some prohibitions. This is not an issue for us to talk about much. We need to prepare society for this. We need to respond with a moral-political society within the framework of the paradigm of 'democratic modernity'. Today, the people gave us a warning with the May elections. We need to pursue a policy at the highest level. In the last elections, a populist election came to the fore in which people were at the forefront. When the people are not organized and do not take part in the decision mechanisms of the party, personalities can operate the political mechanism to a certain extent. Up to a point this works, but after a while it doesn't work. What we need to do is to knit a policy for Kurdistan, and on the other hand, a policy for Turkey. We will hold public meetings everywhere by saying, 'What kind of a policy can we conduct for Turkey and the peoples of the Middle East?' We will take into account the warnings of our people. We will create a mechanism where the public can express themselves better and find themselves.”   ‘THE SOLUTION IS THE PARADIGM OF ABDULLAH ÖCALAN’   Underlining that there was no defeat in the elections held in May, Öcalan said: "There were inadequacies. These inadequacies can be overcome with Democratic Modernity, pioneered by PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. We cannot pretend that some things did not happen. The Kurdish people are a political people, they have always played their role and mission. We need to take this into account in our policy. We will pursue a policy that adheres to the values of the Kurdish Freedom Movement and within the framework of Mr. Öcalan's opinion. Some accounts are trying to discredit Kurdish politics in a planned way."   A COLLECTIVE POLITICS, NOT CENTRAL   Underlining that a collective policy should be pursued instead of a central one, Öcalan continued: “Leaving aside the psychological warfare on social media, there are also valid criticisms. The Middle East and world politics are changing. Kurds need to change their politics. This is a fundamental thing. The strength of the Kurds is not 9 percent, this is not the potential of the Kurds. Kurds cannot run from election to election. Kurds have to be moral and political in every moment of life. Local dynamics need more listening. There is a congress decision, we need to build our future strongly by identifying our shortcomings. We cannot do politics based on self-hatred. We have a problem with the Turkish Republic system. The state mind wants to take away all the gains of the Kurds in the 21st century. It is not right to base our entire politics on anti-Erdoğan opposition. Yes, 'Erdoğan is an actor', attacks against Kurds are carried out under the leadership of Erdoğan. However, this state is not independent of its mind, and we need to conduct a policy against it.”   'WE WILL WORK AGAINST THE ISOLATION'   Stating that the picture that emerged in the election is not independent of the heavy isolation conditions imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is being held in İmralı Type F High Security Prison, Öcalan continued: “There is a heavy isolation against Mr. Öcalan. They must play their mission. Mr. Öcalan does not look at politics daily, those who evaluate politics on a daily basis lose. Mr. Öcalan has always drawn attention to the third way. There are political Islamists on one side and white Turks on the other. Both want to design a policy within the framework of their own ideologies; however, the people are not in need of these two sides, Mr. Öcalan has opened the third democratic way against this. The isolation against Mr. Öcalan must be broken as soon as possible. This isolation, which has lasted for years, can be broken with an organized struggle. If Mr. Öcalan speaks, he will guide the Kurds with his projects and paradigm. This unlawful, inhumane isolation must be lifted. According to the Constitution, Mr. Öcalan's rights are trampled on in İmralı. The state is trying to reduce the influence of Mr. Öcalan on Kurdish politics with its policy in İmralı. As the HDP-Green Left Party, we will work in every field to end the isolation as soon as possible.”   MA / Emrullah Acar
