Ermiş: KCK's decision of inaction is a historic opportunity 2023-05-05 11:36:14     NEWS CENTER -  Stating that the KCK's decision of inaction is a historical opportunity, HDP Hewlêr representative Nahide Eriş  said: "A peaceful environment can be achieved by the regional forces coming together under a common roof."   The decision of inaction declared by the Union of Communities of Kurdistan (KCK) following the March 6 earthquakes in Mereş that killed tens of thousands of people continues. Despite the fact that the KCK extended its decision of inaction with a second statement until the May 14 elections, Turkey's attacks against the Zap, Metina and Avaşîn regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region continue. Mecid Hiso, one of the executives of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) and Nahide Ermiş from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Hewlêr Representative, evaluated the KCK's decision of inaction and Turkey's attacks.   'THE DECISION OF INACTION IS A HISTORIC OPPORTUNITY'   Stating that this process is an opportunity for the peace of the peoples of the Middle East, Nahide Ermiş from HDP Hewlêr Representative Office said:  "The decision of inaction is a necessity of responsibility towards the society. The extension of the decision is related to Turkey's evolution into a democratic republic in the new century. Turkey is going to an election of historical importance in terms of the democratization of the republic, especially the Kurdish issue. In this respect, the KCK has shown very clearly that it is in favor of a real democracy in Turkey, Kurdistan and the Middle East. As it is known, some segments of the international arena had previously made such requests to the KCK. KCK officials shared this with the public at different times. This decision of inaction was also a response to these demands. Now the ball is truly in the hands of those who make these demands; however, this dictatorship built its existence entirely on the Kurdish genocide. Especially in the last 10 years, it has completely institutionalized this policy; therefore, we are faced with a government that is involved in crime. The dictatorship used all the means of the state to liquidate the Kurds everywhere, but it was not successful.
