TFF reduced racist attack sentence 2023-03-14 16:41:42   DİYARBAKIR - TFF Arbitration Board announced that the penalty for playing 9 matches without spectators against Bursaspor in the racist attack during the Amedspor match was reduced to 7 matches.   The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Arbitration Board reduced the sentences given by PFDK to Bursaspor due to the racist attack in the Amedspor match and the message it gave to the Kurds with the posters of Mahmut Yıldırım, the counter-guerrilla codenamed Yeşil.   The Board reduced the 9-game penalty given to Bursaspor to 7 games without spectators, and the fine from 326 thousand TL to 256 thousand TL.   The Board of Arbitration declared that "the sentence was reduced in order to be proportional to the severity of the action and the penalty imposed".   BACKGROUND   Bursaspor and Amedspor faced each other on March 5 in the 23rd week match of the TFF 2nd League White Group.   Before the match, Bursaspor players attacked Amedspor players, knives, iron, bullets and water bottles were thrown at Amedspor players during the match.   While Amedspor players took the field, slogans such as "Martyrs are immortal, our land is indivisible", "How happy is the one who says I am a Turk" and "Revenge" were shouted.   Bursaspor fans unfurled banners of JİTEM player Mahmut Yıldırım, codenamed "Yeşil", with photos of "White Taurus".   Despite the attacks on Amedspor players during the match, the match was not suspended, the players had to play despite the thrown objects, and the referee's failure to postpone the match caused great criticism.   Amedspor President Selahattin Yıldırım announced that they will make the necessary applications to UEFA and FIFA as well as TFF.
