On the 29th day of the demonstration: Open the gates of Imrali 2023-01-31 15:51:25 ANKARA - Speaking at the demonstration protest against the Imrali isolation, HDP MP Ayşe Sürücü said: “The Turkish state must stop the isolation and open the gates of Imrali. The lawyer and his family must meet with Mr. Öcalan as soon as possible.”   The demonstration, initiated by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs to allow PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to meet with his lawyers, has entered its 29th day. MPs Kemal Peköz, Fatma Kurtulan, Feleknas Uca, Muazzez Orhan, Abdullah Koç, Ayşe Sürücü, Murat Çepni, Sait Dede, Şevin Coşkun and Erdal Aydemir made a statement in the garden of the Parliament with the signs "The law should be applied in İmralı", "Isolation is a crime against humanity".   CALL TO THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE   Reminding the applications made to the Ministry of Justice for a meeting request in İmralı, Sürücü said: “We made an application, but the Ministry of Justice did not respond. We have been on the demonstration for 29 days, our voices are not heard. As long as the isolation continues, our struggle will continue. We are calling out to the Ministry of Justice, stop the isolation and open the gates of Imrali. The lawyer and his family should meet with Mr. Öcalan as soon as possible.”
