Imprisoned brothers with 92 percent and 94 percent disabilities 2023-01-23 13:52:19   BATMAN - Demanding the freedom of her two children, one of whom is dependent on dialysis due to kidney failure and the other who is 94 percent disabled due to a stroke, Rahime Nebioğlu said: "They are fighting for their lives. The Turkish state should release my sons. Enough is enough."   Fırat (24) and Emrah (30) Nebioğlu brothers, who were arrested on different dates in Batman, are not released despite their severe health problems. Fırat, one of the brothers, was arrested in Batman in 2015 and arrested on charges of "being a member of a terrorist organization" and sentenced to 11 years and 7 months in prison for "being a member of a firearm and an organization". Fırat was transferred to the prisons in Batman, Gümüşhane, Harput and finally Diyarbakır, respectively. Fırat, who is being held in Diyarbakır Type T High Security Prison, has a 92 percent disability report due to his paralysis. He lives on dialysis due to kidney failure. He also has trouble seeing and hearing.   Fırat received a "he cannot stay in prison" report from Batman Training and Research Hospital, where he was removed due to kidney failure. The Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) gave a report on March 14, 2022 that Fırat Nebioğlu could "stay in prison". Three applications for kidney transplantation for Fırat Nebioğlu, whose 2 kidneys failed, were left unanswered.   NEBIOĞLU IS DISABLED 94 PERCENT   Another brother, Emrah Nebioğlu, was paralyzed by a bullet he received in the head during the protest actions against ISIS' attacks on Kobanê in 2014. Afterwards, a lawsuit was filed against him for "being a member of a terrorist organization" and he was sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison. The sentence given to Emrah, who is being held in Antalya Type S Prison, is still under review at the Court of Cassation.   Emrah, who was given a 94 percent disability report by Batman Regional State Hospital, also has many diseases: loss of strength, crossed eyes, hearing loss and high blood pressure.   MOTHER: I DON'T WANT TO GO THE FUNERAL OF MY SONS   Mother Rahime Nebioğlu, whose two children are in prison, described the events as "oppression". Nebioğlu said: "I want my children to be prevented from losing their lives. My children were unlawfully detained and arrested. They are sentenced without any concrete evidence. My son, who entered the prison healthy, is now fighting for his life depending on dialysis. When the arbitrary approach of the prison administration was added to the lawlessness, my son fell ill. Kidney transplantation is not allowed even though two of his kidneys have failed. I don't want to see the funeral of my son. The state should release my son, we will treat my son. There are those who have a kidney in the family. They are ready to donate their kidneys. Enough is enough."   'MY SONS ARE FIGHTING FOR LIFE'   Saying that Fırat's older brother Emrah was also arrested despite being ill, mother Nebioğlu continued as follows: "We were fighting together for Fırat when Emrah was not in prison. Although he was ill, he applied to many places for his treatment. He was in a constant struggle; however, he was also arrested as ill. My son is also fighting for his life in prison right now. The authorities do not respond to any of our demands. How are 2 people with such severe illnesses still being held in prison? The Turkish state should end this torture. I appeal to everyone who has a conscience. There should be no funerals in prison. A ground should be laid for my children to be treated."   MA / Fethi Balaman
