Demonstration for Öcalan: Bozdağ is responsible for the lawlessness in Imrali 2023-01-20 15:53:00   ANKARA - Describing the reason why PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan was not allowed to meet with his family and lawyers as "deep hostility towards the Kurds", HDP Urfa MP Ömer Öcalan said: "Minister of Justice Bozdağ is responsible for the unlawfulness practiced in İmralı."   The demonstration, which was initiated by Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs to allow PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to meet with his lawyers and to end the aggravated isolation as soon as possible, continued on its 22nd day. HDP MPs Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Mahmut Toğrul, Ömer Öcalan, Zeynel Özen, Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir, Celadet Gaydalı, Züleyha Gülüm and Kemal Peköz made a statement in front of the Parliament, carrying banners "The law should be enforced in İmralı" and "Isolation is a crime against humanity".   Urfa Member of Parliament Ömer Öcalan said: “If this country is a state of law, if it is governed by laws, if there is a constitution to which this country is subject, this must be implemented everywhere. You can't apply a method to people, like a tire, to shoot wherever you want. We haven't heard from Ömer Hayri Konar, Veysi Aktaş and Hamili Yıldırım, who are with Mr. Öcalan in İmralı, for 22 months.”   'WHY ARE THE LAWS NOT IMPLEMENTED IN IMRALI?'   Why are the laws not enforced in Imrali? Why can't families go to the meeting? Why can't lawyers hold their meetings? We are aware that there is a deep hostility to the Kurds here, but the solution is not here. AKP wants to take everything under its control in order to stay in power. The AKP wants to deepen some problems from time to time. But this issue is too serious to be reduced to elections and current political issues. We want this issue to be approached with the seriousness of the state. We demand it, we fight for it. That's why we have been holding the demonstration for 22 days with HDP MPs, offering solutions against the AKP, which wants to deepen the problems.   Our demands are legitimate and lawful. We do not expect favors from anyone. We say apply whatever is in the execution legislation of this country. We have a call to the Ministry of Justice; Institutionally, the Ministry of Justice is responsible for the unlawfulness practiced in Imrali and for any negative situation that may occur. Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag is responsible for this, he cannot even respond to our applications. We want the law to be enforced as soon as possible. We will fight for this. We will not allow the isolation in Imrali to take the entire society hostage.”
