Imprisoned journalists not allowed to be visited by their colleagues 2022-12-29 17:00:04   ANKARA - The applications of 9 detained journalists and their colleagues to meet are blocked with the same numbered, dated and same text structure.   Diren Yurtsever, Editor-in-Chief of the Mezopotamya Agency (MA), reporters Bervian Altan, Ceylan Şahinli, Deniz Nazlım, Emrullah Acar, Selman Güzelyüz and Hakan Yalçın, JINNEWS Habibe Eren and Öznur Değer, who was detained on October 25 and arrested on October 29 as part of the investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, applied for visits and their applications are blocked. Many applications for visits with journalists are rejected by the decision of the Sincan Prison Administration and Observation Board.   DOCUMENT NUMBERS, DATES, TEXTS OF DECISIONS ARE THE SAME   As the reason for blocking the visit of MA and JINNEWS reporters, it was shown that the minutes sent with the letter of the Ankara Ministry Communications Bureau and Ankara Governorship Provincial Gendarmerie Command dated December 13 contained negative information as a result of the investigations made about the visitors. The request of imprisoned journalists to be added to the list of their friends was rejected with the decision that the applicants' visit would be objectionable for this reason. It was noteworthy that the number of decisions, the date and the text structure of the decisions regarding the rejection of the requests to meet with the journalists' friends were exactly the same.   INQUISITION IN DIYARBAKIR INSTEAD OF ANKARA   Due to the fact that the journalist, who requested a meeting with Diren Yurtsever, the Editor-in-Chief of MA, resides in Diyarbakır, the investigation that had to be made by the Diyarbakır Governorship Provincial Gendarmerie Command was carried out by the Ankara Governorship Provincial Gendarmerie Command.
