Political prisoner not released despite expiration of sentence for not accepting effective remorse law 2022-12-22 10:38:32   URFA- The execution of İsmail Hakkı Tursun, a prisoner of 30 years in Urfa No. 2 High Security Closed Prison, has been postponed for 6 months and 5 days on the grounds that he has no regrets.   İsmail Hakkı Tursun, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for "helping terrorists" after he was arrested in Amed in 1992, is not released even though he has completed his execution. The execution of Tursun, who was held in Urfa No. 2 High Security Closed Prison, was postponed for 6 months and 8 days due to the report prepared by the Prison Administration and Observation Board that he was not doing well.   The hunger strike against the postponement of the execution, the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the increasing rights violations after the state of emergency; The attacks on Afrin, the isolation and the hunger strike against uniform dress in 2018; applications to end practices in prisons; shouting slogans during the ward change was made as a reason. In the reasoning, it was concluded that Tursun was "not in goodwill" because he "does not regret" his crimes.   'WHY WERE YOU SHOUTING SLOGANS?'    The family of Tursun, who applied to the Human Rights Association (İHD) Amed Branch regarding the issue, stated that his relatives had been detained since December 1992 and completed their execution on December 9. In the petition submitted to the İHD, it was stated that the Administration Monitoring Board met for Tursun on December 8 and asked him, "Do you want to be released?. You've been in prison for 30 years, don't you miss your family? If you missed your family, why are you participating in the strikes?, Why were you shouting slogans?, Who is Abdullah Öcalan?" and showing the Turkish flag, Are you Turkish or Kurdish?" It was recorded that he stated in the form of in the petition, "The happy news that we have been waiting for 30 years is stuck in your craw with this unlawful extension decision of the Administration Monitoring Board," and a request for legal aid was made.   MA / Müjdat Can
