Tiryaki defended at the General Assembly: A plot in the person of Güzel 2022-12-21 16:44:40   ANKARA - Emphasizing that the dismissal of Semra Güzel is a denial of the will of the Kurds, HDP Batman MP Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki said: "This is a plot that took place in the person of Semra Güzel."   The report of the Joint Committee on the Constitution and Justice on the dismissal of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) imprisoned MP Semra Güzel continues to be discussed in the General Assembly of the Parliament.   Before the decision to be made, HDP Batman MP Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki made a defense on behalf of Semra Güzel. In his defense, Tiryaki spoke about Semra Güzel's motions in the parliament, her work, the internal law of the Constitution, the decisions of the ECtHR, the resolution process, the reports of the İHD on the solution process, the Kurdish issue and the MPs who have been demoted so far.   'THEIR AIM IS NOT TO REVEAL THE TRUTH'   Pointing out that with the publication of the said photographs, a process that cannot be described as an ordinary Parliamentary Committee work was carried out, Tiryaki continued as follows: “It was stated that it was taken more than seven years ago, in 2014 and in a process called the 'Solution Process' that it is served the photos to the press that have been held by the security units and the Public Prosecutor's Office since 2017, and a lynching campaign was launched against Semra Güzel by many people with the publication of the photographs on January 8, 2022 at 19.47 pm. Semra Güzel was targeted by AKP and MHP MPs and government members. There were dozens of photographs of Semra Güzel and Volkan Bora in their 18s and 20s, taken in Şanlıurfa, by the lake with fish, on the streets of Şanlıurfa, and in coffee houses. After joining the PKK, Volkan Bora did not destroy these photos, but kept them in the camera that was with him when he was killed, or on the hard drive of the machine. But the aim was not to reveal the truth, but to put into practice a decision that was made beforehand.”   PLOT FOR GÜZEL   Just like the DEP case, the November 4 Coup, Leyla Güven's MPs for Musa Farısoğulları, and the dismissal of Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, the dismissal of Semra Güzel today is a denial of the will of the Kurds in the eyes of the Kurds. Large sections of the society, especially the Kurds, do not consent to the demotion of another MP for political gain. The opposition should also see this truth well. This is a plot that takes place in the person of Semra Güzel. Every vote cast to lift immunity is to support this plot; It will mean approving the putschist and repressive policy against democratic politics.   The removal of Güzel's parliamentary position will be voted on in the General Assembly tomorrow.
