Zebari: If the commission reaches its chemical evidence, the Erdogan regime will be broken 2022-11-25 12:07:15   NEWS CENTER - Stating that the commission established for the use of chemical weapons in Iraq is an important step, Academician Dr. Hoşyar Zebari said: "If the commission reaches the documents and evidence, it will cause the Erdogan regime to break."   The attacks launched by Turkey in partnership with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) on the Zap, Metina and Avaşîn regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region have entered their 7th month. Despite all its technological superiority, Turkey, which could not get the desired result, resorted to the use of chemical weapons in the region at least 2,500 times. Against this, Kurds and their friends took to the streets in Kurdistan, Turkey and many centers of Europe, demonstrating their reaction against Turkey's chemical weapons attacks. As a result of increasing public pressure, the Iraqi Parliament took an important step on November 16 and established a special commission to investigate the use of chemicals in conflict areas.   The commission, which will include representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Iraqi Parliament's Public Security and Defense Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will collect documents and findings related to chemical weapons and file a complaint with the United Nations Security Council.   In the Federated Kurdistan Region, which issued a joint statement against Turkey's attacks, 34 names, including writers, journalists and academics, from Zaxo University, academician Dr. Hoşyar Zebari made evaluations about the importance of the commission established by the Iraqi Parliament and Turkey's attacks.   'A VERY IMPORTANT STEP'   Stating that despite all the documents and findings, the international forces remained silent against Turkey's attacks on the region, Zebarî said: "For 7 months, the invading Turkish army has been attacking the region both from the air and from the ground under the name of 'Claw-Lock' for 7 months. Especially in Zap and Metîna, there is a very heavy war. The Turkish military has been unable to make any progress despite all its means and is also receiving heavy blows. For this reason, chemical weapons, which have been banned around the world since mid-July, are being used uninterruptedly. These weapons are heavily used in Zap and Metîna regions. It was even used in places close to Sheladize and Amude. HPG members shared their proof and evidence of the use of chemical weapons with all national organisations. These documents proved once again that Turkey used chemical weapons. For the first time, the use of chemical weapons was harshly criticized in the British Parliament and a call was made to stop the Turkish state's attacks."   THE GOVERNMENT OF KURDISTAN   Evaluating the Iraqi Parliament's establishment of a commission on the use of chemical weapons as an important step, Zebarî said: "This step shows that the Iraqi government is approaching the incident seriously. But it is equally important to investigate this and that the committees in that commission go to places that use chemicals and conduct research. Will the Bashure Kurdistan government support this commission? Or will it not? Will this commission be allowed to go there and conduct research safely or not? Will the Bashure Kurdistan government act according to the Erdogan regime and not allow it? If the Bashure Kurdistan government supports this commission, great evidence and proofs will be obtained. But if it doesn't allow it, their partnership with Turkey on this issue will be proven once again."   'A DOCUMENT TO BREAK THE ERDOĞAN REGIME'   Noting that even Turkey's attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria could be stopped once this commission obtained the evidence, Zebari said: “The Iraqi government has just been established. The people have expectations from this government. It promised the public that it would solve many problems. In particular, there are expectations regarding agreements with the Kurdistan government. They also have promises that they will make an effort regarding Turkey's attacks on the region. On the one hand, there is an extraordinary situation in Iran. Iran wants to throw its internal problems out of the border. For this reason, it is attacking the Kurdish armed forces located on the border of Slemani and Hewler. It's bombarding every day. At the same time, there is an agreement between Turkey and Iran. Today, Turkey is making a very serious effort to invade not only Bashure Kurdistan but also Rojava. Turkey launched a genocidal operation against the Kurds. It's a very serious situation. But if this commission, established by the Iraqi government, conducts its research seriously, it will achieve a very successful result. If this commission receives documents and evidence, it can stop the Erdogan regime's attacks on both Bashur and Rojava. This will also be a great document for breaking the Erdogan regime.”
