Sarısözen: Those who do not speak out about the use of chemical weapons are complicit in the war crime 2022-11-10 13:38:00   ANKARA -Stating that those who do not promise to "clear the state from war crimes" will not receive support from the HDP, Journalist Veysi Sarısözen said:"The Alliance of Six, which do not speak about the use of chemical weapons, are complicit in war crimes."   After the announcement that 17 HPG members lost their lives as a result of chemical weapons attacks on Turkey's Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn regions, government officials made statements that it was not in their inventory as they did in the previous years. The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) replied to JINNEWS that they were "following" the issue and could not start an investigation without any application from member states. While Forensic Medicine Specialist Şebnem Korur Fincancı, who called for the investigation of the use of chemicals, was arrested, an investigation was launched against the human rights defenders who voiced the same demand. A police investigation report was drawn up against CHP Istanbul MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu, who made the most recent statements on the subject.   Journalist and writer Veysi Sarısözen made assessments to the Mesopotamia Agency (MA) on the use of chemical weapons, which is considered a war crime in the world.   USE OF CHEMICAL WEAPONS   Emphasizing that a state's use of banned, chemical or phosphorus-based weapons cannot be equated with crimes such as corruption, violation of the constitution, unlawful arrests of citizens or torture, Sarısözen said: "Even if it is said that the chemical weapons will not be used anymore, it isn't meant that it is not a crime anymore. There is no turning back it has to have consequences. The crimes can be prevented with new laws. It doesn't mean anything whem the Council of Europe or the European Union give up their 'concerns' and write in their reports that 'the Turkish state is taking positive steps towards reform and it may not use the chemical weapons.”   'ERDOĞAN CANNOT STOP INVESTIGATION OF CHEMICAL WEAPONS'   Pointing out that Turkey will be prosecuted for war crimes in case of detection of chemical weapons use, Sarısözen said: "Jailing a world-renowned Forensic Medicine expert is condemned. All Forensic Medicine experts in the world focus on the Turkey's use of chemical weapons. Human rights defenders will hold a big demonstration in Düsseldorf on November 12. Their voices will pressure the states this time. The Australian government's statement says that it should be investigated whether chemical weapons were used is alarming for Erdogan because after such a statement, if the Australian Government applies to the United Nations for 'investigation', Erdogan cannot stop this investigation."   THE SILENCE OF ALLIANCE OF SIX   Stating that the parties in the Alliance of Six, which continues their silence about the use of chemical weapons, have not yet "united", Sarısözen said: "The Alliance of Six, which do not speak about the use of chemical weapons, are complicit in war crimes. They do not speak about the AKP-MHP-Ergenekon coalition's use of chemical weapons, which has turned the Turkish state into a 'war criminal state'. Even if they will not be tried in international courts, the peoples of Turkey will definitely hold them accountable for being complicit in this crime."    THIRD PATH POLICY   Speaking about if the Labour and Freedom Allience lead by HDP is an alternative, Sarısözen said: "The 'Third Path' is not an election tactic, it is the name of the strategic program that deals with all issues of Turkey, the Middle East, and even the world. The Third Path is not until the election, but until the confederalist revolution. Whatever election tactic fits this strategic purpose, it is necessary to know that HDP and Kurdish voters will apply this tactic. I do not know what kind of election tactic will be. The HDP and Kurdish voters will make the decision."   LEGITIMACY OF THE ELECTION    Speaking about the legitimacy of the election, Sarısözen said:"The government will intervene with the result of the election. The election will not be won by throwing some papers into the ballot box. On the election day, they can say that an arsonist saboteur burnt those papers in a box. The judges in the District and Provincial Election Boards can reject all objections of the opposition regarding cheating. The YSK can uphold these rejections. When the dictatorship usurps the election by using violence and shedding blood, even the most nonpolitical people will admit that the goverment has lost its legitimacy forever."   THE KEY ROLE OF HDP   Sarısözen said: "'Third Path' means the way of the people. The fate of the election will be determined by the HDP both at the ballot box and on the street. The aims of the Third Path is to stop the war against the Kurds, to gain the full support of the Kurdish people in all parts, to form an alliance with them, to transform both Turkey and Iraq, Iran and Syria into democratic republics with the support of these enormous powers in four parts, to overcome international hostility with the 'democratic nation' process, to blur the borders that separate the peoples of the Middle East, just like the EU, and thus to build the Middle Eastern confederalism. In summary, the Third Way, the confederalism path, is the only revolutionary alternative."
