DİSK Chairperson visits Şenyaşar family: This struggle reveals the truth about Turkey 2022-11-07 15:19:44   RİHA - Visiting the Şenyaşar family DİSK Chairperson Arzu Çerkezoğlu said: "This struggle describes the situation of Turkey and reveals the truth about it. The family's demand for justice, rights and law is also a demand for the future of this country."   The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 609. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Revolutionary Workers' Unions Confederation (DISK) Chairperson Arzu Çerkezoğlu and members of the board of management visited the family, who was on sit-in in front of the courthouse.   Arzu Çerkezoğlu spoke on behalf of the delegation. Referring to the importance of the family's struggle, Çerkezoğlu said: "This struggle describes the situation of Turkey and the truth about it. The whole country is witness to the process that took place after a brutal massacre here. The resistance of Emine Şenyaşar and her family in the face of injustice and lawlessness in this process is both the demand for rights, justice and law and for the future of this country. As the working class, as DISK, we always say that without democracy, without justice, labourers cannot have rights. We say that democracy and justice are the bread of the labourers. We know that the rights of labourers can not be realized without democracy and justice.”   'DISK WILL STAND WITH THE FAMILY'   Stating that all the struggles for rights and law in the country and all the struggles against injustice are also the struggle of DİSK, Çerkezoğlu said: "DISK will stand with the Şenyaşar family. We will continue to demand justice in all areas of the country. We would like to express our condolences to the Şenyaşar family. We are with them in their honorable struggle. We will follow the case for justice."   'ALL THE WORLD WILL SEE'   Speaking after Çerkezoğlu and reminding that they have been fighting for justice for 2 years, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "Our demands were legitimate. We do not want anything other than the implementation of existing laws. AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız speaks to pro-government media and slander our family. He should come here, there are public prosecutors here. A case has been filed, but the hospital footage is still not shared with us. These records will be revealed the day after tomorrow and the whole world will watch who is a 'terrorist'. We thanked DİSK for their support."   Speaking at the end, Emine Şenyaşar reminded what happened and demanded the release of her son Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been in prison for 4 years.   After the speeches, the book "Justice" by author Ali Oruç, who wrote about the family's struggle, was presented to Çerkezoğlu.
