Rally of Humanity: Resistance is the only choice 2022-11-07 12:21:42   ŞIRNEX - Participating in the "Rally for Humanity" held in Silopî against the use of chemical weapons citizens said: "We fight for 'peace' but they fight for 'war'. There is no choice but to resist."   A "Rally for Humanity" was held in Tilqebîn town of Şirnex's Silopî district yesterday against the chemical weapons that Turkey continues to use against the Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region. Thousands of people participated in the rally led by Democratic Society Congress (DTK), Free Women's Movement (TJA), Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and democratic mass organisations. Thousands of people, who met in the rally against military and police obstructions, expressed their demands against the use of chemical weapons.   'WE WILL CONTINUE OUR STRUGGLE'   Participating in the rally from Mersin and condemning the military attack, pointing out that they participated in the rally against chemical weapons, Hanife Ümit (44) said: "We condemned the use of chemicals. We wanted to march, but Turkish state attacked us with tear gas. They did not allow us to march. We are here to defend the rights of our children. We are here for our language and identity. We will continue our struggle until we succeed. Our demand is our language, our identity. We call on all mothers here; They should support their children."   CALL FOR UNITY   Participating in the rally from the Qoser (Kızıltepe) district of Mêrdîn, Cemile Akbay said: "I participated in the rally to shout for peace and stop the war. We participated for our children. They use chemicals weapons and murder our children. As the Peace Mothers, we fight for peace. We do not want deaths. We want our children in prison to be released. We want Mr. Öcalan to be released. Our children should return to their homes. We called for 'unity' to the Kurds against the attacks. When we come together, good things will happen. We should stand behind our cause, language, identity and country."   'WE WILL DEFEND OUR CHILDREN'   Participating in the rally from Adana and pointing out the pressures on the Kurds, Nafiye Çoban (45) said: "We came for peace. We are here to demand our rights. This persecution of our children should end and chemical weapons should not be used. It is enough; our trees and forests should not be cut down and burned. We do not accept this. We should support the rally and stop this cruelty on our children."   Reminding the HPG members who lost their lives in the use of chemical weapons, Sureyya Yılmaz, 72 from Qoser said: "They killed 17 of our children by using chemicals. Were these children not human beings? We are here today to condemn this. The war should be stopped. The state should not slaughter our children.``   MESSAGE OF RESISTANCE   Coming to Silopî from Cizîr (Cizre) district and condemning the use of chemical weapons, Abdullah Gijali (70) said: "Those who use chemicals have no conscience. Our demand is peace. Chemical weapons' use must be prevented. We should not remain silent. There is no difference between those who are silent against it and Barzani. The one who remains silent is Barzani's partner. Kurds should be united now. It is enough of their betrayal."   Participating in the rally from Hezex (İdil) district, Mehmet Karaviş (65) said: "We should be against deaths. We called for Peace. The persecution should be stopped. The Kurds want peace, they don't want war. The Kurds also want unity."   Participating in the rally from Dêrgul town of Sirnex center emphasized that the use of chemical weapons is a crime, Ahmet Durak (57) said: "I am here to condemn the use of chemical weapons. We want to get ahead of this. We condemn the silence against it. We are here for 'peace' but they want 'war'. We have no choice but to resist."
