For Ebubekir Perk to attend his mother's condolences for two hours, 45 thousand TL was requested.   Zeliha Perk, the mother of political prisoner Ebubekir Perk held in Silivri Prison, passed away. Despite many attempts, the last request of Perk, who is a dialysis patient, to see her son, was not met. Ebubekir Perk, who was arrested on charges of "being a member in a terrorist organisation" in 2005, was released in 2013 after being held in Tekirdağ Prison for 8 years. Perk was sentenced to 16 years in prison in the proceedings. Perk, whose sentence was approved in 2017, was arrested once again in 2018. Perk, who was put in Kocaeli Prison after his arrest, has been held in Silivri Prison for 4 years. His mother, Zeliha Perk, who is a dialysis patient, has not been able to see her son for the last 6 years due to her illness. Perk, who completed the execution of his sentence on the charge of "being a member in a terrorist organisation" in June 2022, was not released because he was sentenced to 1 year 11 months and 20 days in prison when he was arrested in 2018 on the grounds that he had a "false passport" on him.   SHE COULDN'T VISIT TO HER SON FOR 6 YEARS   The efforts of mother Perk, who made many attempts to have her son transferred to Urfa, were inconclusive. Condolences were made for Perk, who passed away in Hilvan city center on Saturday, October 22. It was learned that the family of Ebubekir Perk was asked to spend 45 thousand TL to attend his mother's condolences for two hours. Due to the high expense incurred by the Gendarmerie, Perk refused to participate in the condolence.   THE PROPOSAL THAT PERK'S MOTHER HAS NOT SEEN HER SON FOR YEARS   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Urfa MP Ayşe Sürücü submitted a written question to the Parliament on October 20, 2022 for the imprisoned Perk to be transferred to a prison close to the Hilvan district of Urfa. Stating in the proposal that Perk's mother had not seen him for years, Sürücü said: "Ebubekir Perk wants to be transferred to Hilvan Prison, but his transfer is not realized. This practice, which is done when the family's health and financial situation is clear, is a clear violation of rights. It is essential to take steps on the issue”.
